65TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY FOR THOMAS AND ELIZABETH PURCELL
On Wednesday, September 8, 2021, Thomas J. and Elizabeth J. (Hartner) Purcell, of Bethel Park, PA, will be celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary, they were married in St. Norbert's Church in Pittsburgh, the year was 1956. Tom and Betty, as they are known by their friends, met at Carrick High School. He played football and she was a cheerleader. Tom served two years during the Korean War while Betty stayed home and worked for Mellon Bank as a secretary. When he returned home, they married and Tom worked for Bell Telephone for 35 years and Betty was a homemaker and writer. Dedication to their children and grandchildren was always most important to them and so in 1991 they retired to spend quality time with their family. They are the proud parents of Kathy Planitzer of Bethel Park, Kristine Sacco of Bethel Park, Tom Purcell, Jr. of Library, Lisa Swaitek of Mars, Mary Hyde of New Windsor, MD and Jennifer Alexander of Peters Twp. They have 17 grand and nine great-grandchildren.
