HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY JAMES McCLELLAN James A. McClellan became a centenarian on January 10, 2021. He was born in Buckhannon, WV and raised on a farm in Brookville, PA. He worked at his family's farm and bed-and-breakfast, the "Dew Drop Inn," from a young age. He served as a prime mover driver and machine gunner in the 755th Field Artillery Battalion, 15th Field Artillery Regiment, on the front line in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. He earned three sharpshooter badges. He was drafted in May 1943, when his son was nine months old, and ended his service in December 1945 as a corporal T/5. James also worked as a senior buyer for Bessemer Lake Erie Railroad and U.S. Steel. He was a deacon at First Presbyterian Church and served Pittsburgh's homeless through their walk-in ministry for 30 years. He's read the Bible over 60 times. He survives his beloved wife, Naomi, of 75 years. They have four children, Howard, Nancy, Faith, and Jane; seven grandchildren, Jeffery, Kristen, Heather, Jason, Jenna, Jordan, and Tyler; and one great-granddaughter, Reagan.
